Initial intake sessions and consultations are one hour and 20 minutes and the individual therapy sessions following the intake are 45-50 minutes. I draw from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Division of Responsibility (DOR). Treatment is goal-oriented with a focus on skills strengthening through homework in between sessions. Your feedback, in regards to how you would like to feel differently, think differently, or behave differently, will inform the work we do together.

I also use a multidisciplinary team when needed. I'll help connect you with other providers I know and trust if this is what your treatment is calling for. This may include psychiatrists, primary care physicians, or dietitians. I'll maintain close contact with these providers to ensure we're all on the same page. I may also recommend a higher level of care if I observe that an outpatient setting is not providing the level of support you need.

I treat adolescents, young adults and adults.

My areas of specialty are:

I have done speaking engagements for corporations, schools, universities, spas, treatment centers, businesses, non-profits and more. The topics I present on are topics such as prevention and early intervention for eating disorders, the psychology of eating and the Connected Eating Essentials (a non-diet, Health at Every Size® approach).  I’ve had the opportunity to speak at renowned institutions like top-rated Rancho La Puerta Spa in Mexico, Stanford University, E & J Gallo Winery's Women of Wine ERG, and Pinterest Headquarters.

My speaking style is informative with a healthy dose of humor. I am passionate about the topics related to healing disconnected eating. My hope is that you will leave my talks with a increased desire to create peace between you, your body and your food. For samples of my speaking style please visit my Speaking Events page.
